The “Euphoria” star, who tragically passed away at the young age of 25 on Monday, was working as a waiter in Brooklyn in 2018 when a woman named Darling Justine visited the restaurant with her friends to celebrate her birthday.
Four years later, when the video of their gathering resurfaced on Justine’s friend’s Snapchat memories, she informed NBC that her friend had recognized Cloud among the restaurant staff.

By that time, Angus Cloud had already received extensive praise for his portrayal of the kind-hearted drug dealer Fezco in the HBO series (CNN and HBO share a parent company).
But according to him, he was never seeking fame.
He revealed this year on ID, “The difference between me and everyone else famous is that they were mostly trying to be famous. They were working hard and saying, ‘I’m going to make it to the top.’ For me, it was never about that.I didn’t realize it planned to go this far.”
And go far, he did.
Cloud’s breakthrough came when he was discovered on the streets of Oakland, California, by casting director Eleanor Hendricks, which ultimately led to his casting in “Euphoria.”
He portrayed the character with such authenticity that some viewers believed he was not acting at all.
“It bothers me when people say, ‘It must have been so easy! You just went in there and played yourself,'” he told Variety last year. “I’m like, no!”
Part of the reason for this misconception could be that Cloud’s unique personality and exterior appearance matched his character’s, and the mark on his forehead seen in the show’s scenes was indeed real.
Both were a result of a painful head injury sustained while he was a teenager, making him a standout among fans of the provocative teen drama.
At the beginning of 2022, he told GQ, “The difference, I guess, because they kind of kicked me off the street, I think Fezco was [never going to be] that. I don’t know how it’s going to go, but I guess at the time, because nobody told me, I think Jacob had told me, ‘He’s kind of like you, you know? Your character gets shot [in a fake-out].'”
“And, yeah, it never ends. I guess I walked out like, I hope I went out like G,” he said. “I don’t know, but I hope I went out like G.”
The first-time actor was enjoying the work, but the same couldn’t be said about his newfound visibility.
He said, “I could do without people spotting me in the city. I’ve really gone; I feel like I’m constantly looking over my shoulder. showing love to people who come up to me, but some people just run up and throw their phones in my face. Bro, I’m not a carnival joker.”
Fans and friends alike expressed their sorrow over the unexpected loss of the talented star.
